British Woman Killed in Stabbing at Rosenheim Railway Station, Bavaria

A 31-year-old British woman died in a stabbing at Rosenheim railway station in southern Germany early Sunday morning, Bavarian police confirmed. The victim was attacked just before 1 a.m. local time (midnight BST) and transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to severe injuries. Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old German man at the scene and are investigating the motive and possible relationship between the two.

Bavarian police issued a statement saying the woman was stabbed during the incident. The suspect, a resident of the Fürstenfeldbruck district near Munich, was taken into custody immediately after the attack. Investigators have not yet established whether the victim and the suspect knew each other or the purpose of her visit to Bavaria.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an argument or physical altercation near the station between late Saturday and early Sunday. Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities. According to German news agency DPA, the suspect is expected to appear before magistrates later Sunday.

Rosenheim, located in Upper Bavaria, is a major rail hub serving travelers heading to Austrian cities such as Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. The city is currently hosting the Rosenheimer Herbstfest, a traditional beer festival similar to Oktoberfest, which may have drawn large crowds to the area overnight.

Authorities have not released further details about the suspect or the victim beyond their ages and nationalities. The investigation is ongoing, with forensic and witness evidence being reviewed.
