Delhi Draft Electoral Roll 2026 Released: Check Your Name & Update Details

Delhi’s draft electoral roll was released on August 31, 2026, after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process that began on June 20 and finished on August 17. The new list shows that 47.7 lakh voters were removed from the national capital’s 1.45 crore electorate. Those excluded are considered either deceased, relocated, duplicates, or “uncollectible” and will be struck off the final roll. The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has opened a window for affected voters to file claims until September 30, 2026, through Form 6 with supporting documents. The final voter roll will be published on November 4.

The Delhi electoral roll is now searchable online via the Election Commission of India’s voter services portal. Voters can check their status in three ways. First, enter the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number and state (NCT of Delhi) and confirm the captcha. Second, use name‑based search by entering the voter’s name, a relative’s name, date of birth, age, gender, and district or assembly constituency, then hit search. Third, a generic search by state and language can be used if the EPIC is not available.

If a voter’s name does not appear, the “Claims and Objections” process can be used to challenge the omission. To file a claim, voters should first cross‑verify their historical registration details on the Election Commission website. Two search options are available: “Search by Elector Details” and “Search in last SIR E‑Roll.” If the name is still missing, the voter must register on the portal using a valid mobile number and optional email address, then select “New Voter Registration” or “Form 6.” The application requires lineage details—either the voter’s own or their parents’ historic voter roll information—and must be supported by identity proof (Aadhaar, passport, or PAN) and Delhi address proof (recent electricity, water, or bank passbook). After submission, an instant reference ID is generated to track the claim’s status.

Alternatively, voters can file a dispute through the Voter Helpline App, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The app allows upload of required documents and real‑time status updates. All claims must be submitted by September 30, 2026, to be considered for inclusion in the November 4 final roll.

The SIR exercise aimed to clean up the electoral database, but the removal of nearly 48 lakh names underscores the need for voters to verify their status promptly. The Delhi CEO’s office has urged residents to use the online tools and the helpline to ensure their names appear on the final voter list. Failure to file a claim by the deadline could result in permanent exclusion from the electoral roll, preventing participation in Delhi’s upcoming elections.
