TCS iON 'deeply regrets' Jaipur NEET-PG power failure, says working to fix it 'urgently'
TCS iON has issued a formal apology for power failures that disrupted the NEET-PG 2026 examination at two centers in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 31. The company acknowledged the technical issues at the iON Digital Zone Sitapura center and stated that it is working urgently with vendor teams to resolve the problem and prevent future occurrences.
In an official statement posted on X, TCS iON expressed “deep regret” over the inconvenience caused to candidates who appeared for NEET-PG 2026 and the concurrent AIIMS Common Recruitment Exam (CRE). The company attributed the disruptions to “unknown local electrical issues” and confirmed that expert vendor teams are actively addressing the problem.
The disruptions affected NEET-PG 2026 at two Jaipur centers, prompting the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the exam’s conducting authority, to reschedule the test for affected candidates on September 5. NBEMS has also announced an immediate meeting to review the incident and determine accountability regarding infrastructure and technological support.
TCS iON emphasized that both NEET-PG 2026, conducted for over 2.63 lakh candidates across 1,111 centers nationwide, and AIIMS CRE, held for over 21,000 candidates at 58 centers, proceeded smoothly except for the isolated issues in Jaipur. The company assured continued cooperation with authorities to support candidates and restore normal operations.
In response, NBEMS has formed a three-member committee led by Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Rajasthan Health and Family Welfare Department, to investigate the power failure. The committee includes a senior state government official, a joint secretary from the Union Health Ministry, and a senior engineering official from the Central Electricity Authority. Its mandate is to examine the causes of the disruption and recommend preventive measures.
The incident comes amid heightened scrutiny of examination integrity and infrastructure reliability in India’s high-stakes medical entrance tests. TCS iON, a unit of Tata Consultancy Services, plays a key role in digital assessment delivery for major national exams.
