Teen girl gang-raped in moving car in Bihar; two arrested, one sought

A 15‑year‑old girl in Bihar’s Aurangabad district was gang‑raped inside a moving car, and police have arrested two of the three suspects, the Aurangabad police said on Tuesday. The crime occurred after the girl was lured by three youths from her village, who promised to drive her to her mother’s hospital but instead took her 50 kilometres to a deserted area near the Deoria canal.

The incident unfolded around noon on a Sunday when the girl’s mother was receiving treatment at Kutumba Referral Hospital. The mother called her daughter and asked her to come to the hospital. At about 12:30 p.m., three men from the village offered to drop the girl at the hospital in their car. Police say the men, who are all minors, drove her past 50 km to the outskirts of Madanpur, a remote area where they forcibly raped her.

The girl was threatened repeatedly during the assault. After the attackers left her near the canal at about 6:30 p.m., she returned home and told her parents what had happened. The parents immediately lodged a police complaint. The police registered a kidnapping and gang‑rape case under the Indian Penal Code and arrested two of the three suspects. The third suspect remains at large, and raids are underway to locate him and recover the vehicle used in the crime, according to Kutumba SHO Imran Alam.

The victim is currently under the care of the Child Welfare Committee. She has undergone a medical examination and will give her statement in court on Tuesday. The forensic science laboratory (FSL) and technical investigation teams are collecting evidence from the crime scene and the vehicle. The police are also searching for the third accused.

The case highlights the ongoing issue of sexual violence against minors in rural Bihar. Law enforcement officials said they will continue to investigate the matter thoroughly and pursue all suspects. The child welfare committee will monitor the girl’s health and safety while the investigation proceeds.
