Hull agree deal with Frankfurt for winger Bahoya

Hull City have agreed a deal with German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt to sign winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline. The 21-year-old France Under-21 international has been granted permission to travel to East Yorkshire to undergo a medical after expressing a strong interest in joining the newly promoted Premier League club.
The agreement marks another major step in Hull City's aggressive recruitment strategy under manager Sergej Jakirovic. Should the transfer be finalized following successful medical tests, Bahoya will become the Tigers' 13th signing of the summer transfer window. The East Yorkshire club has invested heavily in rebuilding its squad after securing promotion to the top flight through last season's Championship play-offs.
Hull City have already made an immediate impact in the Premier League, securing consecutive victories over Manchester United and Coventry City in their opening two matches of the new campaign. Adding Bahoya is expected to provide further attacking depth and tactical flexibility for Jakirovic as the club seeks to sustain its early momentum.
Bahoya is primarily a left winger but is capable of operating across multiple attacking positions. Despite his young age, he brings elite European experience to East Yorkshire, having featured for Frankfurt in both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. Several Premier League clubs had previously tracked the Frenchman prior to Hull City reaching an agreement with the German side.
The attacker originally joined Eintracht Frankfurt from French club Angers in 2024. During his tenure in Germany, Bahoya made 78 appearances across all competitions, recording seven goals and eight assists. Known for his exceptional acceleration and athleticism, he set the Bundesliga speed record during a match against Bochum in 2025, when he was officially clocked at 23.09 mph.
The completion of the deal remains subject to the finalization of personal terms and the successful completion of the player's medical assessments before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
