Nigerian Anti-Corruption Agency Declares SGF Project Office ‘Fake’ as Controversy Intensifies

Abuja, Nigeria – The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has officially declared the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Project Office a fake operation. The announcement follows a growing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities linked to the office’s activities and personnel.

According to ICPC spokesperson Azuka Ogugua, preliminary investigations revealed that the office was not duly approved or recognized by the Federal Government. “Our findings indicate that the SGF Project Office lacks official authorization and operates outside the scope of government-approved structures,” Ogugua stated. The ICPC has urged concerned citizens to report any suspicious engagements with the entity.

Meanwhile, Nigerian entertainers are expressing heightened concerns following the remand of popular comedian Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, by a UK court. Poco Lee, who was arrested in London earlier this month, faces serious charges that have sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Legal experts are advising local celebrities to review their contracts and public conduct to avoid similar legal entanglements abroad. “Artistes must be cautious about their statements and actions, especially in foreign jurisdictions,” said human rights lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa.

Elsewhere, the Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to rescue abducted members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Corps members in several states have reported being targeted by kidnappers, prompting a nationwide search.
