Oyedepo Praises Kumuyi’s Global Ministry at Ota Crusade
Bishop David Oyedepo lauded Pastor William Kumuyi’s worldwide impact during the August Global Crusade in Ota, urging believers to embrace genuine salvation.

Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide has praised Pastor William Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church, describing him as a sage whose global ministry has left a lasting spiritual impact. Speaking at the ongoing Global Crusade with Kumuyi in Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo highlighted the transformative influence of Kumuyi’s decades-long ministry under the theme “Total Transformation Through Christ.”
Oyedepo, who has closely followed Kumuyi’s work since its early stages, expressed admiration for the ministry’s enduring strength and spiritual reach. “This man is a sage. Today, I am amazed at the strength, the unction, and the impact of this ministry all through these years,” he said during the Saturday night session. He emphasized the importance of honoring influential spiritual leaders, calling Kumuyi a voice that has touched lives across the globe.
The Living Faith Church founder prayed for continued growth in the ministry, saying, “May this grace continue to multiply, in the name of Jesus.” He expressed optimism that attendees would experience divine grace throughout the program, urging them to expect remarkable spiritual breakthroughs.
In his sermon titled “How Shall We Escape, If We Neglect So Great a Salvation?”, Oyedepo underscored the necessity of genuine salvation as a lived experience rather than mere ideology. Referencing Hebrews 2:3 and 2 Corinthians 13:5, he explained that salvation transforms the believer’s life, producing tangible fruit such as love, joy, and peace. He recounted his own conversion on February 19, 1969, at age 15, calling it a definitive encounter with Christ. “There was no guesswork. I knew what took place in my life when I did,” he stated.
Oyedepo challenged believers to examine their spiritual walk, urging obedience to God’s Word and perseverance amid trials. He emphasized that spiritual growth demands commitment, noting that “everything of value carries a cost. Heaven is the most valuable destination. Therefore, there are definite costs.”
Pastor Kumuyi, in his message titled “The Great Transplanting of Blessings into Your Life,” reciprocated Oyedepo’s admiration. He reflected on their decades-long friendship, dating back to the 1970s, and expressed joy in renewed fellowship. “We enjoy one another’s fellowship. As he and I are going younger at heart, we are re-establishing that fellowship—greater things are yet to come,” Kumuyi said.
The four-day crusade, now in its final stages, has featured powerful testimonies, including that of Mrs. Florence Okafor, whose husband, Sunday, recovered from 17 years of mental illness. The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday in Ota.
